Job Description:
We are seeking a high-velocity and analytically minded Structural Engineering Intern to anchor the design and field operations of our engineering team. In a high-stakes construction environment, success is defined by "Stability Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex load calculations with the clinical precision required for site inspections and regulatory compliance. This role is designed for a "Structural Architect" with 0–2 years of experience who can blend "Analysis Grit" (using tools like AutoCAD and ETABS) with the "Operational Agility" required to collaborate with architects and contractors on-site.
Requirements:
1. Design Architecture & Analysis Governance
Computational Precision: Assist in the preparation of structural designs and calculations, ensuring every beam, column, and foundation meets high-fidelity stability requirements.
Software Orchestration: Utilize engineering tools (AutoCAD, ETABS) to support the analysis of complex structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety margins.
Technical Research: Conduct deep-dive research into engineering materials and modern construction methods to provide innovative technical support for ongoing projects.
2. Field Operations & Site Stewardship
Inspection Sovereignty: Participate in rigorous site inspections, monitoring construction activities to ensure "Zero-Variance" from approved structural plans.
Compliance Vigilance: Support senior engineers in enforcing industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies across all active work zones.
Materials Oversight: Monitor the application of engineering solutions on-site, ensuring that material usage aligns with the structural integrity requirements defined in the design phase.
3. Project Synchronization & Documentation
Narrative Architecture: Help prepare high-quality technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates that provide stakeholders with clinical insights into project health.
Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate synchronously with architects, contractors, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to resolve design conflicts and optimize execution.
Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous records of structural changes, site observations, and design revisions to ensure a transparent and audit-ready project history.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Mandatory: Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is required.
Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in a civil or structural engineering capacity.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Technical Savvy: Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETABS, or similar engineering design software.
Communication Power: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and inter-team coordination.
