Job Description:

  • The Trade Finance Representative provides critical support to the Trade Finance, Clearing, Procurement, and Treasury teams by ensuring seamless processing of import and export documentation and resolving shipment-related inconsistencies.
  • The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, minimizing delays in documentation processing, and ensuring compliance with trade finance regulations.

 

The Job

  • Assist in processing trade finance documentation related to import and export transactions in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipment records and reports, including weekly tracking of PAAR (Pre-Arrival Assessment Report.
  • Work closely with Procurement and Clearing teams to ensure smooth pre-shipment and post-shipment activities across the group.
  • Monitor trade-related transactions to ensure timely processing and prevent delays that may result in demurrage.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems to support audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Track shipment documentation and follow up with relevant stakeholders to resolve discrepancies or delays.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and cost visibility across trade finance processes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on trade documentation status and shipment activities.

  • Have strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Be highly organized with good record-keeping abilities.
  • Show adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of a National Diploma (ND) in a relevant field.
  • Additional IT or analytical training will be an added advantage​
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
