Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Verification Specialist to join our team in Ikeja. In this role, you will be the final line of defense in our recruitment process, ensuring that all prospective hires meet our organization’s high standards of integrity and excellence. You will be responsible for validating credentials, employment history, and personal details, providing management with the peace of mind that comes with accurate, verified information.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive Screening: Perform end-to-end background checks, including identity validation, physical address verification, criminal record searches, and thorough employment history audits.

  • Credential Verification: Authenticate academic qualifications and professional certifications directly with issuing institutions.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, professional references, previous employers, and educational bodies.

  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all verification processes strictly adhere to legal and regulatory standards, maintaining confidentiality at every step.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise records of all findings and provide actionable, detailed reports to HR and management; flag any discrepancies for immediate review.

  • Problem Resolution: Proactively manage candidate inquiries and resolve verification discrepancies with professional tact and integrity.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of evolving industry best practices and legal changes relevant to background screening.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in background verification, HR compliance, or a similar investigative/HR role.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of background check methodologies and legal compliance requirements.

  • Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized background screening software.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations effectively.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational skills with a commitment to high-accuracy reporting and data integrity.

Salary

₦100,000 - ₦150,000/month
