Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Electrical Engineer to serve as our Solar Grid Site Manager. You will be the primary custodian of a 200 – 1,000kWp solar grid, taking full ownership of its operational health, maintenance, and performance. This is a critical field-based role that requires a high degree of technical autonomy, a proactive approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to live on-site to ensure the seamless delivery of clean energy. Requirements:
System Operations & Maintenance: Proactively manage generation and storage assets, including solar arrays, inverters, and battery systems. Ensure reliable power delivery and system uptime.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor system KPIs, identify potential issues, and develop actionable plans to correct any operational shortfalls.
Technical Troubleshooting: Perform hands-on repairs, including distribution line maintenance and electrical system diagnostics, to restore functionality quickly.
Asset Reporting & Documentation: Maintain meticulous logs of faults, system performance, and maintenance activities. Provide regular, accurate status reports to management.
Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the on-site face of our company. Respond promptly to client inquiries and maintain a professional, positive relationship with the local community to uphold our brand reputation.
Rapid Response: Communicate efficiently with the central management team regarding asset health and emergency situations, ensuring rapid escalation and resolution of critical issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with electrical power distribution systems (preferably systems exceeding 500kW).
Sector Expertise: Strong knowledge of power generation and distribution. Previous experience managing power systems—whether solar, gas, or other energy classes—is essential.
Technical Skills: Advanced electrical troubleshooting abilities and a solid understanding of solar-specific hardware (inverters and battery storage).
Personal Commitment: Must be willing to relocate to and reside permanently at the grid site location.
Salary
