We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer who approaches quality with the mindset of an owner—someone who understands that quality is not just about testing, but about building reliable systems that users and businesses can trust.
• At Aku, you’ll work on critical financial and payment infrastructure used by businesses across Africa.
• You will play a key role in ensuring our products are stable, scalable, and resilient as we continue to grow across markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Own quality assurance across key product initiatives, from early planning through release and post-release monitoring
• Design and implement robust test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks to improve test coverage and release confidence
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to identify risks early and improve product quality from the design stage
• Perform API, backend, and system-level testing for complex financial workflows
• Monitor product releases and production environments to identify and troubleshoot issues quickly
• Establish best practices for testing, documentation, and release readiness
• Improve QA processes, tools, and automation to support faster and safer product delivery
• Advocate for quality, reliability, and performance across the engineering organization.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 6+ years in same role with strong work experiencein fintech, banking, or payment services
• Strong experience in software quality assurance, including manual and automated testing
• Proven experience testing complex systems such as fintech platforms, APIs, or high-transaction products
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
• Solid understanding of API testing, integration testing, and system reliability
• Experience working in agile or fast-paced product development environments
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with engineering and product teams.
