Job Description:

• This new role will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying our voice—internally and externally—ensuring that our narrative aligns with our ambitions.
• This role is central to building trust, engagement, and clarity across our global team and with our external stakeholders.
• We are seeking a high-class Legal Counsel to join our global team, with experience in some or all of the following:

Key Responsibilities

• Ship sale and purchase;
• Asset finance; 
• Corporate finance;
• JVs and other corporate transactions;
• Regulatory work and government/agency engagement.

Requirements:

• First class drafting;
• Energy, agility and resilience for work embedded with commercial colleagues on numerous fast- moving matters;
• Strong inter-personal and project management skills: Legal works with numerous other functions and externals;
• Good legal sector connections.

Qualifications and Skills:

• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ PQE at a leading corporate and/or law firm, in Nigeria (i.e. top tier national or multinational) or internationally (but now resident in Lagos), with either shipping expertise, or highclass experience from commodities, oil and gas, finance, aviation, or similar.
• The candidate should have a focus on non-contentious work including some or all the following: 
• Asset sale and purchase;
• Bank facilities;
• Share issue, sale and purchase;
• Joint ventures.
