Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber and analytically rigorous Senior Finance Manager to anchor the financial ecosystem of J3 Foods and Stores International. In the high-velocity FMCG and retail sector, success is defined by "Inventory-to-Cash Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex multi-outlet reconciliations with aggressive cost-optimization and tax compliance. This role is designed for a "Financial Architect" who can blend "Forensic Accounting Precision" with the "Leadership Diplomacy" required to mentor Account Officers and advise the MD/CEO on investment opportunities.
Requirements:
1. Multi-Outlet Financial Governance
Reporting Architecture: Oversee the timely and high-fidelity preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all outlets.
Process Standardization: Implement and enforce standardized accounting procedures across all distribution locations to ensure "Zero-Gap" reporting.
Audit & Reconciliation: Review and approve complex balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, receivables, and payables, ensuring every naira is accounted for.
2. Inventory & Supply Chain Stewardship
Stock-to-Book Alignment: Conduct rigorous reconciliation of inventory transactions (purchases, movements, and write-offs) in strict alignment with accounting standards.
Warehouse Collaboration: Partner with the warehouse department to validate physical vs. book inventory, engineering solutions to minimize shrinkage and discrepancies.
Revenue Recognition: Validate sales reports and monitor trade promotions, discounts, and rebates to ensure revenue recognition is clinically accurate.
3. Cost Optimization & Fiscal Control
Strategic Cost Accounting: Oversee proper allocation of expenses and implement cost-saving measures that enhance margins without compromising operational efficiency.
Internal Control Systems: Design and implement robust internal controls to proactively prevent fraud, errors, and financial leakages.
Investment Advisory: Provide the MD/CEO and General Manager with data-driven insights on investment opportunities and strategies to improve overall organizational profitability.
4. Compliance, Tax & Payroll Sovereignty
Statutory Fidelity: Ensure the timely filing of VAT, Corporate Tax, and other statutory obligations, staying ahead of changes in Nigerian FMCG tax laws.
Payroll Governance: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including the precision-tracking of deductions and statutory remittances.
Payment Oversight: Manage and monitor payment systems to verify incoming funds and approve all payment vouchers and petty cash.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven experience in a Senior Finance or Controller role, ideally within the FMCG or Retail Distribution sector.
Technical Savvy: Deep knowledge of modern accounting software, cost accounting, and Nigerian tax regulations.
Leadership: Strong experience in managing and mentoring a decentralized team of Account Officers.
