We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Description:
- Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the SOC, including monitoring security events, analyzing incidents, and responding to threats, and guiding the team in maintaining a robust 24/7 security posture.
- Proactively seeking opportunities to improving SOC processes, performance, and effectiveness
Role Accountabilities
Supervisory & Operational:
- Ensuring the SOC is compliant with relevant security standards and regulations.
- Developing SOC performance management tools
- Identifying potential threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, and developing use cases for security monitoring.
- Coordinating security data’s collation and analysis from a range of internal and external sources and produce formal security updates.
- Developing regular metrics, dashboards and reports for SOC operations for various stakeholders as approved by the CSO.
- Ensuring compliance to SLA and process adherence to achieve operational objectives.
- Providing security context analysis and daily security updates and rapidly communicate relevant security information, analysis and recommendations to the security management.
- Working with other security teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Developing and maintaining performance metrics to track SOC effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuously monitoring security events and systems for anomalies and suspicious activity.
- Providing clerical and administrative supports for security operations.
- Scheduling meetings and coordinating appointments.
- Providing firsthand equipment preventive and corrective maintenance
- Performing threat management & threat modelling, identify threat vectors and develop use cases for security monitoring.
- Effective communication and escalation during incident response.
- Actively searching for and identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities within the security architecture.
- Any other roles as designated by the SM/CSO.
Financials:
- Ensuring physical security systems are functioning correctly and are fit for purpose, troubleshooting and organizing for corrective action while at the same time mitigating against any risk to the facility.
- Effectively manage and control the security resources and operational logistics.
- Reviewing and processing of all 3rd contract monthly invoices for accountability.
Team Training & Development:
- Leadership, mentorship and performance management for direct reports.
- Working closely and maintain a positive working relationship with internal teams and outsourced partners in the remediation actions of incidents within SLA.
- Assisting security manager to provide in-depth security inductions for new staff upon arrival and additional briefings for all staff upon major shifts in the security context
Health & Safety
- Work safely and take responsibility for keeping self and colleagues free from harm.
- Report all incidents and hazards promptly.
- Inform, train and equip security personnel to carry out their work safely.
- Ensure prompt and accurate reporting and investigation of all workplace incidents and injuries.
- Assess all hazards promptly and ensure they are managed.
- Comply with Quality Management System / Operational Health & System requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in science or security related discipline.
- Relevant Professional security certification - added advantage
- Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Good knowledge and understanding of security systems and management.
- Ability to pay attention to details and to anticipate security issues from nuances within and outside the business.
- Technical Security competency.
- Emotional maturity to understand impact and sensitivity of security issues.
- Possess good communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Display good supervisory, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Exhibit proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
