Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and detail-oriented Sales/Operations Intern to anchor the daily commercial activities of our foodstuff and household items shop in Mangoro. In a startup environment, success is defined by "Operational Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize cordial customer service with the clinical precision required for sales recording, expense management, and basic bookkeeping. This role is designed for a "Retail Architect in Training" who can blend "Customer Grit" (advertising and sales) with the "Analytical Agility" required to support corporate finance functions.

Requirements:

1. Sales Orchestration & Customer Diplomacy

  • Service Excellence: Attend to every customer in a high-fidelity, cordial manner, ensuring the shop remains a "Source of Choice" for foodstuff and household essentials in Mangoro.

  • Narrative Advertising: Proactively promote and advertise products to walk-in clients and the local community to drive foot traffic and sales velocity.

  • Transactional Sovereignty: Execute millimetric sales recording for every item sold, ensuring that the daily sales log is an undisputed "Source of Truth."

2. Fiscal Integrity & Bookkeeping Support

  • Ledger Governance: Support the maintenance of accurate accounting records and handle basic bookkeeping tasks, including daily and weekly reconciliations.

  • Expense Stewardship: Assist with expense management, ensuring every kobo spent on shop operations is documented and justified with high-fidelity receipts.

  • Audit Readiness: Provide clinical support during internal audits and compliance checks, ensuring all financial documentation is organized and ready for review.

3. Operational Agility & Skill Evolution

  • Startup Growth Mindset: Work and grow synchronously with the business, identifying "Friction Points" in shop operations and proposing simple, effective solutions.

  • Technical Mastery: Develop proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized accounting software to automate inventory tracking and financial reporting.

  • Inventory Monitoring: Assist in tracking stock levels of foodstuff and household items to prevent shortages during peak demand periods.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Candidates should possess an O-Level or OND qualification.

  • Location: Strict Requirement: Candidate must reside in Mangoro (Lagos) for operational proximity.

  • Character: High level of integrity, a "can-do" attitude, and a willingness to learn in a startup environment.

Core Competencies

  • Numerical Grit: Strong analytical and numerical skills for accurate bookkeeping.
