Job Description:

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven, and highly experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales department and accelerate business growth. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for transforming high-level business objectives into actionable sales strategies. You will manage, coach, and inspire a team of Sales Executives, ensuring they have the tools and mentorship needed to consistently exceed revenue targets while cultivating long-term relationships with key institutional and private clients.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a "closer" mindset and a proven ability to foster a high-performance culture in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Leadership & Team Performance

  • Direct Supervision: Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

  • Coaching & Mentorship: Monitor individual and team performance via KPIs; provide regular feedback, performance reviews, and hands-on coaching to develop talent.

  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Sales Executives to ensure a sustainable talent pipeline.

Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with overall business goals and emerging market opportunities.

  • Growth Identification: Pursue new business through rigorous market research, networking, strategic partnerships, and prospecting.

  • Marketing Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team to align lead generation activities, sales campaigns, and brand messaging for maximum impact.

High-Level Account Management

  • Key Account Oversight: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with high-value stakeholders and strategic accounts.

  • Negotiation Leadership: Lead high-level negotiations and support the team in closing complex or multi-million naira deals.

  • Compliance & Pricing: Oversee the preparation of proposals, quotations, and contracts to ensure they align with company policies and pricing structures.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Forecasting: Analyze sales data, pipeline reports, and market trends to provide accurate revenue forecasts.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Executive Reporting: Regularly present sales performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.

  • Seniority: 5–7 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Track Record: Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding ambitious sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent).

  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills at both the client and executive levels.

  • Analytical Ability: Strategic thinker capable of interpreting complex data to solve business challenges.
