Job Description:

Leadway Assurance is seeking a high-impact Sales Manager to lead, inspire, and grow our sales operations. In the insurance industry, success is built on trust, strategy, and relentless execution. Your mission is to serve as the "Field General," responsible for recruiting top-tier talent, designing aggressive market-entry strategies, and ensuring your team consistently exceeds revenue targets.

This role requires a current industry insider—someone who understands the Nigerian insurance landscape and has the leadership gravitas to manage a diverse team of sales executives. If you have 3–5 years of experience in insurance sales and a proven track record of managing high-performance teams, we invite you to lead our next phase of growth.

Requirements:

1. Sales Strategy & Market Development

  • Strategic Engineering: Develop and implement robust sales strategies tailored to various market segments (Retail, Corporate, or SME).

  • Business Development: Actively drive client acquisition efforts, identifying new untapped opportunities and high-value partnerships within the region.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market trends and competitor products to pivot strategies and maintain a dominant market share.

2. Team Leadership & Talent Acceleration

  • Talent Acquisition: Identify, recruit, and onboard high-potential sales executives to expand the team’s footprint.

  • Coaching & Mentorship: Lead continuous training sessions on product knowledge, negotiation tactics, and closing techniques to improve the team’s conversion rates.

  • Performance Governance: Supervise daily activities, set clear KPIs, and monitor individual and collective performance against revenue targets.

3. Reporting & Performance Analytics

  • Data-Driven Insights: Prepare and present comprehensive sales performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting growth areas and risks.

  • Incentive Management: Administer overriding commissions and performance-based rewards to maintain high levels of team motivation.

  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure all sales activities align with NAICOM regulations and internal company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Current Status: Must be currently employed in an insurance company.

  • Industry Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in insurance sales.

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a core managerial or supervisory role.

  • Track Record: A verifiable history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to motivate a team and drive them toward a collective vision.

  • Advanced Negotiation: Skill in closing complex, high-value insurance contracts.

  • Analytical IQ: Proficiency in sales reporting tools and performance analytics.
