Job Description:
We are seeking a high-performing and strategic Sales Manager to spearhead commercial growth within our Lagos operations. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who understands the complexities of the EPC and construction landscape from long-cycle project sales to the intricacies of high-value tendering. You will be responsible for identifying high-impact business opportunities, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and translating technical capabilities into successful, high-value contracts.
The ideal candidate is a closer with a deep technical sales background and the commercial acumen required to navigate the competitive industrial market in Nigeria.
Requirements:
Strategic Business Development
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies designed to achieve ambitious revenue growth and market penetration targets.
Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities within the EPC, oil & gas, and large-scale construction sectors.
Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze market trends, infrastructure developments, and competitor activity to provide actionable insights for strategy adjustment.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management
Account Stewardship: Manage and strengthen relationships with a portfolio of key clients, ensuring we remain their partner of choice for technical projects.
Networking: Actively engage with project consultants, government bodies, and industry stakeholders to build a robust pipeline of upcoming projects.
Client Advocacy: Act as the primary liaison between the client and our technical teams to ensure project proposals align with client expectations.
Tendering & Contract Negotiation
Tender Leadership: Lead the end-to-end tendering process, ensuring that all technical and commercial proposals are competitive, accurate, and submitted on time.
Negotiation: Drive the negotiation of high-value contracts, balancing commercial profitability with risk mitigation and client satisfaction.
Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of compelling business cases and technical presentations for C-suite and project-level decision-makers.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related technical field.
Seniority: 5–8 years of proven experience in sales or business development specifically within the Engineering, Construction, Oil & Gas, or EPC industries.
Track Record: A verifiable history of closing high-value B2B contracts and managing complex, project-based sales cycles.
Technical & Professional Skills
Sales Lifecycle Mastery: Expert knowledge of the B2B sales cycle, including lead generation, technical tendering, and post-award account management.
Negotiation & Influence: Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence diverse decision-making groups.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate the technical constraints of EPC projects.
