Job Description:

The Knowledge and Innovation for Development (KIID) is seeking committed, curious, and community-driven individuals to join our Research and Assessment Team (KRAT). KRAT is the analytical engine of our organization, responsible for generating the high-quality evidence that shapes policy briefs, advocacy, and life-changing development interventions.

We provide the orientation and capacity-building; you provide the curiosity and commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • Study Support: Assist in the execution of Baseline, Midline, and Endline studies that measure the long-term impact of our projects.

  • Digital Accuracy: Use mobile data collection tools to accurately record, verify, and submit data in real-time, ensuring zero loss of information.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Outcome Harvesting: Participate in identifying the "unintended" successes and challenges of programs to improve future designs.

  • Monitoring Visits: Join field teams for regular site visits to track project progress against established goals.

  • Ethical Standards: Engage with communities with the highest level of respect, maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical research protocols.

3. Capacity Building & Professional Growth

  • Continuous Learning: Participate in intensive training sessions on research methodology, digital tools, and data cleaning.

  • Team Synergy: Engage in debriefing sessions and learning loops to share field insights and strengthen the KRAT team’s collective knowledge.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Assist in the basic cleaning of data and the preparation of field reports that inform our advocacy.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential Requirements (The Baseline)

  • Education: Minimum of SSCE; however, OND, HND, or BSc holders in any discipline are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Availability: Must be available for short-term field assignments and occasional travel to community sites.

  • Mindset: A strong interest in community development and a willingness to be trained in modern research methods.

  • Linguistic Skill: Good communication skills and the ability to follow complex field instructions carefully.

Desirable Skills (The "Extra Mile")

  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with digital tools like KoboToolbox, ODK (Open Data Kit), or Google Forms.
