About Company:

It is the first private hospital in Nigeria to achieve ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certification from the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) and was also recently accredited with COHSASA (Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa) Certificate.

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and technically rigorous Registered Paediatrics Nurse to join our clinical team. In the specialized field of paediatrics, success is defined by "Clinical Empathy", the ability to provide life-saving medical intervention while managing the unique emotional and developmental needs of infants, children, and adolescents. This role is designed for a "Care Specialist" with at least 1 year of paediatric experience who can blend "Advanced Clinical Assessment" with the "Diplomacy" required to guide parents through complex treatment journeys.

Your mission is to ensure "Holistic Patient Recovery and Developmental Safety." You will be a vital link in the paediatric care chain: responsible for everything from precision immunization and emergency assistance to the maintenance of a child-friendly, hygienic environment. If you possess "Acute Observational Skills," a valid NMCN license, and a mandatory RPN certificate, we want you to drive our excellence in child health.

Requirements:

1. Specialized Clinical Care & Monitoring

  • Developmental Assessment: Provide professional nursing care tailored to the specific age and physiological needs of paediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents.

  • Vigilant Monitoring: Monitor patient conditions and vital signs with high frequency, ensuring that even subtle changes are promptly identified and reported to the attending paediatrician.

  • Medication & Immunization Mastery: Administer medications, intravenous treatments, and immunizations with a "Zero-Error" mindset, adhering strictly to weight-based dosing protocols.

2. Procedural Assistance & Emergency Response

  • Clinical Partnership: Assist paediatricians during complex examinations and specialized procedures, ensuring the child remains calm and the sterile field is maintained.

  • Emergency Readiness: Provide rapid-response nursing support during paediatric emergencies, following Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) or similar protocols.

  • Documentation Fidelity: Maintain accurate, real-time nursing documentation that provides a clear and audit-ready history of the child's treatment and response.

3. Family Education & Environmental Safety

  • Caregiver Advocacy: Educate parents and caregivers on home-care instructions, treatment plans, and essential child health practices to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.

  • Biohazard & Hygiene Stewardship: Ensure the paediatric ward remains a safe, sterile, and hygienic environment, strictly complying with hospital infection prevention protocols.

  • Child-Friendly Environment Management: Maintain a workspace that reduces the "hospital-anxiety" often felt by younger patients, promoting a faster emotional recovery.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Minimum of a Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.

  • Specialization: A valid Registered Paediatric Nurse (RPN) certificate is mandatory.

  • Licensure: Current practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of active clinical experience specifically within a paediatric setting.

Core Competencies

  • Interpersonal Grit: Exceptional communication skills to manage both the patient and their often-anxious family members.

  • Multidisciplinary Synergy: Ability to collaborate seamlessly within a team of doctors, therapists, and nutritionists.

  • Clinical Accuracy: Deep understanding of paediatric dosages and infection control.
