Requirements:

Portfolio Management & Growth

  • Risk Mitigation: Actively track regional performance and implement proactive measures to keep loan defaults within strictly defined thresholds.

  • Key Account Management: Directly manage high-value accounts, fostering long-term partnerships and implementing retention strategies to eliminate churn.

Leadership & Network Supervision

  • Field Network Support: Supervise and empower the regional field network to deliver on growth, profitability, and operational efficiency objectives.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all credit field operations are executed in full compliance with internal policies and established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Talent Development: Identify, recruit, and retain top-tier talent. You will coach and mentor your team to strengthen regional capacity and performance.

Strategic Insight & Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain robust relationships with the sales network to support the expansion of the lending business.

  • Executive Reporting: Provide senior management with data-backed insights on regional credit performance, identifying risks and emerging market opportunities.

  • Strategic Input: Leverage data analysis to guide the team toward meeting broader business and financial objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree or MBA is considered a significant advantage.

  • Experience:

    • 7–10 years of experience in credit risk management or lending operations.

    • At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or regional leadership capacity.

    • Proven track record in managing large-scale portfolios within retail, SME, or agent-based lending models.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Deep understanding of CBN guidelines, IFRS 9, and modern credit risk frameworks.

    • Expertise in loan underwriting, portfolio management, and collections strategies.

    • Proficiency in Excel, credit MIS tools, and financial data analysis.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Strategic Leadership: Ability to build and retain high-performing teams.

    • Analytical Rigor: Sound judgment and the ability to make high-pressure credit decisions.

    • Communication: Elite presentation skills with the ability to provide actionable insights to C-suite executives.
