About Company:
Greenlight Planet is a multinational, for-profit business that designs, distributes, and finances solar-powered home energy products, with an underserved population in mind: the 1.3 billion global consumers for whom the old-fashioned electrical grid is either unavailable or too expensive.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Refurbishment Line Manager to lead our end-to-end refurbishment operations. You will be responsible for transforming returned and recovered solar products into saleable, high-quality units while managing the complex inventory lifecycle of spare parts and field returns. This is a critical leadership role for someone who excels in manufacturing or repair environments and is driven by operational excellence and high-impact work.
Requirements:
Operations & Line Management
Production Oversight: Coordinate daily refurbishment operations across multiple locations, ensuring production targets, turnaround times (TAT), and quality KPIs are consistently hit.
Product Flow: Own the end-to-end journey of products—from intake and diagnostics to repair, grading, and final dispatch.
Continuous Improvement: Streamline processes to reduce waste, lower cost-per-unit, and implement new tools to scale operations effectively.
Inventory & Supply Chain Accountability
Total Stock Control: Maintain accurate records for spare parts, refurbished inventory, and field returns.
Traceability: Oversee the intake, classification, and grading of returned units, ensuring full traceability from receipt to final disposition.
Forecasting: Collaborate with procurement to forecast spare parts needs based on real-world return volumes and defect trends.
Reconciliation: Conduct cycle counts and audits to prevent shrinkage and ensure physical stock matches system data.
Team Leadership & Quality Assurance
Development: Lead, mentor, and train a team of refurbishment technicians and quality inspectors to foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Quality Standards: Implement rigorous QC protocols at every stage, using root-cause assessment to mitigate recurring defect trends.
Compliance & E-Waste
Safety First: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Responsible Disposal: Manage the disposal of non-recoverable components in accordance with local e-waste regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
Experience: 5+ years in a refurbishment, manufacturing, or repair operations environment, with proven success in managing production lines or technical teams.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical wiring standards, and power electronics.
Inventory Management: Demonstrated expertise in managing spare parts and returned goods stock.
Soft Skills: Critical thinker, autonomous decision-maker, and an entrepreneurial spirit capable of thriving in an ambiguous, high-growth environment.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage stakeholders across multiple locations.
