Job Description:

Ayoola Foods Limited, a leader in the packaged flour industry (Poundo Yam, Plantain Flour, Rice Flour, etc.), is seeking an experienced and rigorous Head of Quality Control. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end oversight of food safety, laboratory excellence, and regulatory compliance at our Ipaja facility. You will be responsible for designing and enforcing the systems that ensure our products remain the preferred choice for millions of households, maintaining the highest standards of Good Housekeeping (GHK) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

The ideal candidate is a seasoned FMCG professional with a deep technical background in flour processing and a proven ability to lead traceability and audit exercises.

Requirements:

Operational Compliance & Food Safety

• GHK Oversight: Ensure daily that processing and packaging areas strictly comply with Good Housekeeping (GHK) standards before and after every production cycle.

• Inspections: Inspect facilities, equipment, and production lines to ensure all operations align with safety regulations and situational health standards.

• Safety Strategy: Implement plans and strategies to guarantee the provision of safe, high-quality food products.

System Development & Standardization

• SOP Management: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and company policies.

• Protocol Design: Establish methods, inspection protocols, and testing standards for raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials.

• Lab Excellence: Develop infrastructure requirements for laboratories and optimal calibration standards in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

Quality Analysis & Auditing

• Lapse Investigation: Analyze reasons for product defects, quality lapses, and process deviations. Lead Traceability Investigations to identify the source of any quality issues.

• Audit Leadership: Lead all quality and food safety-related audits, both internal and third-party.

• CAPA Implementation: Oversee Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) in collaboration with other departments to resolve and prevent quality failures.

Regulatory Liaison & Data Governance

• Regulatory Compliance: Participate in inspection exercises from regulatory authorities (e.g., NAFDAC, SON) and ensure production meets all external standards.

• Data Verification: Verify QC records, test results, and reports for regulatory submission and internal review.

• Sampling Plans: Develop sampling plans and establish protocols for the handling, storage, and preservation of samples.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Degree: HND, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in Science Laboratory Technology, Food Science Technology, Microbiology, or a related science field.

• Seniority: Significant previous experience as a Quality Control Manager within the FMCG industry.

• Sector Expertise: Direct experience working in a food company specializing in flour products (e.g., Yam flour, Cassava flour, Grain milling) is highly preferred.

• Age: Must be not more than 45 years old.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of GHK, GLP, HACCP, and ISO quality management systems.

• Analytical Prowess: Strong ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop quality metric reports.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Nigerian food safety regulations and regulatory inspection processes.
