Job Description:

IPT PowerTech Group is seeking a high-precision QA/QC Field Engineer to serve as the ultimate guardian of our installation standards across Lagos. In the telecom and power sectors, "Quality" isn't just a metric, it is the foundation of network uptime and equipment longevity. This role is designed for a "Technical Auditor", someone who can transition from inspecting civil foundations to verifying the electrical integrity of advanced hybrid power systems.

Your mission is to ensure that every IPT installation is "Built to Last" and "Built to Spec." You will be responsible for the entire quality lifecycle: from conducting pre-installation site audits and monitoring "Work-in-Progress" (WIP) to final site acceptance and snag-list resolution. If you possess a "Zero-Defect" mindset and the technical depth to hold contractors to global engineering standards, we want you on our team.

Requirements:

1. Structural & Civil Quality Assurance

• Foundation Integrity: Verify that all civil works, including tower foundations and equipment plinths, meet specified concrete strengths and structural dimensions.

• Steelwork Inspection: Audit the installation of telecom masts and mounting frames, ensuring correct torque, verticality, and galvanized coating integrity.

• Site Layout Verification: Ensure the physical site layout aligns 100% with the approved Technical Site Survey (TSS) and construction drawings.

2. Electrical & Power System Commissioning

• Hybrid Power Validation: Audit the installation of specialized batteries, solar PV arrays, and hybrid controllers, ensuring all wiring and grounding (earthing) meet IPT’s global safety standards.

• AC/DC Distribution: Verify the integrity of power distribution units (PDUs) and cabling, performing insulation and continuity tests to prevent future electrical failures.

• Passive Infrastructure Audit: Ensure the quality of cooling systems, enclosures, and fire suppression units within integrated power cabinets.

3. Compliance, Documentation & Snag Management

• Site Acceptance Tests (SAT): Lead the final inspection process with clients and stakeholders, ensuring all technical KPIs are met before site handover.

• Snag-List Resolution: Identify non-conformances (snags) in real-time, documenting them with photographic evidence and ensuring contractors close them within agreed timelines.

• As-Built Accuracy: Review and verify "As-Built" documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the physical state of the installed infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng/B.Sc) in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience: Proven experience as a QA/QC Engineer, specifically within Telecommunications, Power, or Industrial Infrastructure.

• Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards and industry-specific codes (e.g., TIA/EIA, IET Wiring Regulations).

Core Competencies

• Analytical Precision: Exceptional eye for detail with the ability to spot subtle technical non-conformities.

• Conflict Resolution: Ability to firmly enforce quality standards with third-party contractors while maintaining professional relationships.

• Reporting: Proficiency in digital reporting tools and Microsoft Office for creating comprehensive site audit reports.
