About Company:
Mikano International Limited is a Nigerian company in the power generation, real estate and construction sectors. This company offers sales, maintenance, assembly and distribution of power generation products, real estate development, and sales of construction equipment.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-velocity and analytically minded Purchasing Officer to anchor the procurement lifecycle at Mikano International. In a large-scale industrial environment, success is defined by "Supply Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize the full purchasing cycle with the clinical precision required for inventory control, vendor negotiation, and cost optimization. This role is designed for a "Procurement Architect" with at least 2 years of experience who can blend "Logistical Grit" (managing ERP entries and purchase orders) with the "Commercial Agility" required to source high-quality materials for engineering and maintenance teams.
Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Material Availability and Fiscal Efficiency." You will be the primary engine of the supply chain: responsible for de-risking stockouts, engineering better contract terms with suppliers, and maintaining a "Source of Truth" for inventory records and cost-saving reports. If you possess "Strong Negotiation Power," a background in Supply Chain or Business Administration, and the "Proactive Mindset" to coordinate across manufacturing departments, we want you to drive our operational sovereignty.
Requirements:
1. Procurement Orchestration & Lifecycle Governance
End-to-End Purchasing: Manage the full high-fidelity purchasing cycle, including initiating requisitions, raising purchase orders, and managing complex Contra entries with millimetric accuracy.
Vendor Diplomacy: Source and onboard elite suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure superior pricing, lead times, and payment terms that favor the organization's cash flow.
Performance Engineering: Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, ensuring all partners meet Mikano’s "Source of Excellence" standards for quality and delivery.
2. Inventory Sovereignty & Material Control
Data Integrity: Maintain clinical daily records of materials received, disbursed, or transferred across locations, ensuring the inventory system reflects the real-world floor status.
Stock Optimization: Monitor stock levels with a "Zero-Stockout" mindset, initiating replenishment cycles the moment items hit minimum thresholds to prevent production bottlenecks.
Inter-Departmental Synergy: Coordinate synchronously with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure that critical spare parts and raw materials are available before they are needed.
3. Reporting & Strategic Cost Analysis
Narrative Architecture: Prepare and present high-impact weekly and monthly procurement reports that provide management with a clear "Source of Truth" on spending.
Cost-Saving Reconnaissance: Analyze procurement data to identify technical opportunities for bulk discounts, alternative sourcing, and operational cost reductions.
System Mastery: Utilize ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel functions to track the movement of goods and maintain transparent audit trails.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: BA / BSc / HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of robust experience in procurement, ideally within a manufacturing or technical industrial environment.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Core Competencies
Negotiation Grit: Exceptional ability to drive hard bargains while maintaining healthy long-term supplier relationships.
Analytical Prowess: A clinical eye for detail in documentation and cost-benefit analysis.
Proactive Agility: The ability to anticipate material needs and act decisively to prevent operational delays.
