Job Description:

We are seeking a high-energy, tech-savvy Project Management Officer (PMO) to drive the execution of complex IT solution projects. This is a "boots on the ground" role designed for a professional who can translate contractual Terms & Conditions into tangible field deliverables while maintaining a rigorous digital audit trail.

You will act as the right hand to the Project Manager, ensuring that project calendars are respected, risks are mitigated before they become issues, and communication flows seamlessly between the field and the finance office. Requirements:

1. Technical Delivery & Planning

  • Milestone Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and calendars, ensuring that every technical milestone is tracked and achieved.

  • Live Deployment: Utilize your knowledge of project processes to support the live deployment of IT applications in multi-disciplinary environments.

  • Staffing Intelligence: Implement and administer quantitative staffing models to ensure resource levels are optimized for specific project execution requirements.

2. Risk, Governance & Change Control

  • Risk Stewardship: Proactively identify project risks and maintain a robust Risk Register, supporting the development and implementation of effective mitigation plans.

  • Change Management: Support the Project Manager and Finance team in tracking Purchase Orders, managing variations, and controlling "scope creep" through formal change management protocols.

  • Compliance Reporting: Adhere to strict company and client-specific procedures for progress reporting, ensuring that status updates are data-backed and transparent.

3. Commercial & Financial Integration

  • Contract Translation: Participate in contract reviews to ensure that agreed-upon terms are accurately reflected in the project’s day-to-day deliverables.

  • Budgetary Support: Collaborate with the Finance and Administrative Managers to prepare project budgets and monitor spend-against-plan.

  • Communication Hub: Facilitate the flow of essential information among team members, ensuring that the Project Accountant and Admin Manager are aligned with field progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: BSc / HND in Computer Science, Business Administration, Geography, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Maximum of 2 years post-qualification experience in Project Management, specifically within the IT or tech-infrastructure sector.

  • Certification: Membership or affiliation with a Project Management body (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2) is a significant advantage.

Technical Skill Set

  • Tools: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello, or Asana) for tracking development.

  • Metrics: Strong understanding of project evaluation metrics (KPIs) and financial processes.

  • Field Readiness: Comfortable overseeing field work and translating technical requirements for diverse stakeholders.
