Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Laboratory Supervisor to lead our quality control operations. This is a critical technical leadership role responsible for ensuring that every drop of lubricant and petroleum product we produce meets the most stringent international industry standards.

You will manage the end-to-end laboratory lifecycle—from the precision calibration of equipment to the final certification of blended products. Your mission is to maintain a "zero-defect" culture, ensuring absolute compliance with API, SAE, and ASTM specifications. If you are a seasoned Chemist with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a blending plant and a passion for technical excellence, we invite you to lead our laboratory team.

Requirements:

1. Quality Governance & Lubricant Analysis

  • Lubricant Certification: Oversee the rigorous testing of petroleum products and lubricants, ensuring they align with SAE viscosity grades, API service categories, and ISO standards.

  • Protocol Architecture: Maintain and enhance quality control protocols to guarantee that test results are both accurate and reproducible.

  • Technical Interpretation: Collate and interpret complex analytical data, providing management with actionable findings and quality recommendations.

2. Operational Excellence & SOP Management

  • SOP Stewardship: Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure a standardized approach to all testing and blending plant activities.

  • Equipment Integrity: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of sophisticated laboratory equipment to ensure 100% uptime and optimal performance.

  • Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the inventory of laboratory reagents and supplies, ensuring the facility is always equipped for high-volume testing.

3. Leadership, Safety & Compliance

  • Team Mentorship: Provide direct training and mentorship to laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical growth.

  • HSE Governance: Ensure the laboratory remains a "Safety First" environment, strictly adhering to hazardous material handling protocols and environmental regulations.

  • Regulatory Liaison: Ensure all blending plant operations remain compliant with national and international regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience specifically in a petroleum laboratory, with a mandatory focus on lubricant quality testing and blending plants.

  • Technical Depth: In-depth knowledge of ASTM, API, SAE, and ISO specifications and quality analysis methods.

  • Leadership IQ: Proven ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and drive performance in a high-pressure environment.

Salary

₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
