Job Description:
Develop and maintain competent operators and supervisors to ensure the continuous, safe, and professional operation of the plant in an efficient manner that meets the business delivery plan.
Coordinate with the NLNG Learning Department team to deliver module trainings for new operators and technicians. These trainings cover the design, process descriptions, control systems, and safeguarding narratives of the Train 7 Plant project scope, as well as existing facilities, to enhance personnel competence in daily operations.
Retrieve relevant information from manuals, design documents, and vendor materials to develop appropriate training materials and deliver training according to schedule.
Collaborate with the EPC Contractor and third-party vendors to execute the training plan as approved, while monitoring and recording training effectiveness and progress.
Implement a refresher program based on the Assessment and Progression (A&P) scheme and current industry developments and lessons learned, to maintain professional competencies of senior operations personnel, including shift leadership.
Supervise competency-based progression through the A&P schemes for operators to ensure a clear understanding of daily routine, non-routine operations, commissioning, and plant start-up, achieving the minimum staff competence needed to operate the plant.
Train all plant operators to become competent in gas testing and liquefaction as Authorized Gas Safety Testers (AGST), and proficient in process equipment preparation under the permit-to-work system.
Develop and coordinate computer-based training and toolbox talks as part of change management, learning from incidents, and other improvement initiatives on plant assets to ensure situational awareness among operators.
Conduct competence assurance testing on panel and field operators regarding the use of monitoring and control tools to effectively respond to process upsets and emergencies, minimizing production losses.
Review and assess the performance of the A&P schemes to fully reflect technical and operational changes arising from lessons learned, management of change processes, and alignment with competency framework profiles.
Requirements:
HND or a university degree in an engineering or science discipline.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in LNG plant operations, commissioning, and start-up, with at least 5 years at a senior level.
At least 3 years’ experience as a trainer or job instructor.
Working experience with parts or the entire ORP project life cycle—from conceptual design through commissioning and handover—and/or frontline oil and gas production operations is desirable.
Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes, Operations Integrity, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
Strong supervisory and leadership skills with proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams and engage staff effectively.
Hands-on coaching skills with demonstrated ability to develop team competence.
Ability to work effectively in a multinational, multicultural environment.
Clear and effective communication skills in English.
Strong team player, able to overcome differences and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
