Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and highly specialized Operations Manager to lead our offshore diving operations in Lagos. This role is designed for a professional with an extensive background in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically within commercial diving and subsea interventions. You will be responsible for the strategic planning, safety oversight, and executive management of diving projects, ensuring that all subsea activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict adherence to international offshore standards.
The ideal candidate is a technical expert who can bridge the gap between high-level client requirements and complex subsea execution, maintaining an uncompromising focus on operational safety and efficiency.
Requirements:
Operational Strategy & Execution
Project Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of diving and subsea operations, from initial mobilization and project planning to execution and final demobilization.
Resource Allocation: Oversee the efficient deployment of diving personnel, specialized equipment, and offshore support vessels.
Technical Management: Ensure all diving activities—including inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) of subsea infrastructure—meet technical specifications and client expectations.
Operational Efficiency: Streamline workflows and logistics to minimize vessel downtime and maximize project turnaround.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Standard Enforcement: Ensure all operations comply with international diving standards (e.g., IMCA, ADCI) and Nigerian maritime and oil and gas regulations.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct rigorous risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for all subsea activities, fostering a "Safety First" culture across the team.
Audit & Certification: Manage the certification and maintenance schedules for all diving equipment and pressure systems to ensure operational readiness.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Team Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to diving supervisors, life support technicians, and subsea engineers.
Client Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for oil and gas clients, providing regular progress reports and managing project variations.
Contract Management: Oversee vendor relationships and logistics providers to ensure a seamless supply chain for offshore operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Industry Experience: Strong background in the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory, with a specific and deep expertise in commercial diving operations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine Science, Project Management, or a related field.
Technical Certifications: * Relevant commercial diving certifications (e.g., IMCA, HSE Part 1/Surface Supplied) are highly advantageous.
Certifications in Offshore Project Management or NEBOSH/HSE are preferred.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot technical diving issues and manage project budgets effectively.
