About Company:
Africa Metals & Minerals (AMMC) is a growing Africa-focused metals, minerals, and commodities company. We operate across sourcing, refining, trading, partnerships, and industrial supply chains, engaging with high-value clients, suppliers, and partners across Africa and globally.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber and strategically rigorous Operations Lead to anchor the trade execution ecosystem of Africa Metals & Minerals Company (AMMC). In the complex landscape of international metals, minerals, and petrochemicals, success is defined by "Execution Fluidity", the ability to harmonize multi-layered logistics, rigorous supplier onboarding, and cross-border compliance into a seamless commercial engine. This role is a Senior Executive-Track engagement: beginning with a six-month performance-based phase, leading to a long-term leadership role with shareholding participation and corporate benefits.
Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Transaction Integrity and Global Market Access." You will be the primary architect of our operational workflows: responsible for supervising supplier licensing validation, coordinating high-value buyer-agent interfaces, and ensuring every trade aligns with SEC and Ministry of Solid Minerals standards. We particularly welcome interest from globally experienced female operators and diaspora leaders ready to drive Africa’s industrial repositioning.
Requirements:
1. Trade Execution & Logistics Architecture
Workflow Orchestration: Oversee the end-to-end execution of commodity transactions, ensuring that logistics planning and operational movements are synchronized with commercial timelines.
Supply Chain Governance: Manage complex international logistics workflows, coordinating the movement of metals, minerals, and petrochemicals across African and global borders.
Transaction Sovereignty: Maintain high-fidelity transaction tracking and operational reporting systems to provide real-time visibility into the trade pipeline.
2. Supplier Onboarding & Compliance Rigor
Verification Excellence: Supervise the onboarding of new suppliers, performing rigorous documentation verification and licensing validation to ensure total supply chain integrity.
Governance Stewardship: Ensure all operational processes align with KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and international trade compliance practices.
Regulatory Alignment: Maintain familiarity with the operational expectations of the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and SEC Nigeria standards.
3. Strategic Network & Market Penetration
Ecosystem Diplomacy: Leverage a robust professional network within mining, industrial commodity markets, and logistics providers to facilitate smooth buyer-supplier participation.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary operational interface between suppliers, buyers, and agents, ensuring clear communication and efficient deal closure.
Global Mobility: Demonstrate high professional mobility, leading regional and international engagements as required to expand AMMC’s market footprint.
4. Executive Leadership & Equity Participation
Strategic Evolution: Transition from operational coordination into executive leadership, contributing to the platform’s mission of empowering African market access.
Corporate Sovereignty: Participate in the long-term growth of AMMC through an opportunity for shareholding and equity participation following the initial performance evaluation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Trade. An Engineering or Mining degree is a significant advantage.
Advanced Qualifications: MBA or MSc in Operations or Project Management is highly preferred.
Experience: Senior-level experience in managing commercial workflows within the commodity trading or industrial sector.
Certifications & Industry Awareness
Preferred: PMP, CILT, or equivalent professional supply chain certifications.
Advantage: Membership/Certification with the Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG).
