Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Network Systems Engineer to design and implement the networking layer of our platform. This role is fundamental to our mission of enabling resilient, low-latency mesh connectivity across heterogeneous devices. You will be responsible for building the communication backbone that allows devices to discover one another and interact seamlessly in real-time, regardless of the environment.

The ideal candidate is a protocol specialist who understands the nuances of wireless stacks and possesses the engineering rigor to optimize performance across WiFi, LTE, and 5G networks.

Requirements:

Mesh & Wireless Architecture

• Layer Design: Build and optimize the networking layer specifically for mesh and high-performance wireless systems.

• Device Discovery: Implement robust device discovery and peer-to-peer (P2P) communication protocols to ensure seamless connectivity in decentralized environments.

• Connectivity Resilience: Ensure stable and persistent connectivity across diverse network types, including WiFi Direct, LTE, and 5G.

Performance Optimization

• Stack Tuning: Optimize TCP/IP and UDP performance to handle high-stakes, real-time traffic with minimal jitter.

• Latency Engineering: Continuously identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve throughput and reduce latency across diverse and challenging environments.

• Resilience Engineering: Design systems that can self-heal and maintain integrity during network fluctuations or node failures.

Collaborative Engineering

• Cross-Functional Synergy: Work closely with distributed systems architects and AI engineers to align the networking layer with broader platform requirements.

• Prototyping: Rapidly iterate on network protocols to support new hardware and emerging wireless standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: A strong background in wireless networking and protocol engineering, with a track record of building mesh systems in either consumer or enterprise contexts.

• Collaborative Nature: Experience working in high-innovation teams alongside software and hardware architects.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
