Job Description:

We are seeking a clinically rigorous and patient-centric Medical Officer to anchor our healthcare delivery. In a modern hospital environment, success is defined by "Clinical Fidelity", the ability to blend advanced diagnostic reasoning with the empathy required for effective patient management. This role is designed for a "Physician Leader" with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience who can manage complex caseloads, mentor junior staff, and ensure absolute compliance with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) standards.

Your mission is to ensure "Optimal Therapeutic Outcomes and Uncompromising Patient Safety." You will be a cornerstone of the multidisciplinary team: responsible for comprehensive assessments, emergency response, and the continuous review of treatment plans. If you possess "Diagnostic Precision," a commitment to ethical conduct, and the ability to thrive in a high-intensity clinical setting, we want you to drive our excellence in care.

Requirements:

1. Diagnostic Mastery & Treatment Architecture

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Lead high-fidelity medical assessments, integrating history taking, physical exams, and the interpretation of complex diagnostic results.

  • Management Planning: Develop, implement, and rigorously review evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

  • Pharmacological Stewardship: Prescribe and monitor therapeutic interventions, ensuring 100% adherence to approved clinical guidelines and drug safety protocols.

2. Emergency Response & Critical Care

  • Acute Intervention: Provide immediate and effective medical attention during clinical emergencies, acute illnesses, and life-threatening situations.

  • Escalation Protocol: Identify and appropriately escalate high-risk or complex cases to Lead Consultants or specialists to ensure continuity of specialized care.

  • Progress Monitoring: Evaluate treatment outcomes in real-time, adjusting management plans as clinically indicated to ensure rapid recovery.

3. Governance, Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to junior medical officers and interns, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

  • Multidisciplinary Synergy: Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals during ward rounds and case reviews to provide holistic care.

  • Ethics & Compliance: Ensure unwavering compliance with infection prevention protocols, hospital policies, and the ethical standards of patient confidentiality.

  • Documentation Excellence: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring all clinical documentation is audit-ready and legally compliant.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree from a recognized institution.

  • Licensure: Full registration and current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

  • Experience: Minimum of Two (2) years post-qualification clinical experience (Completion of Housemanship and NYSC is mandatory).

Core Competencies

  • Clinical Acumen: Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills under pressure.

  • Professional Integrity: High level of ethical conduct and commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Interpersonal Mastery: Exceptional communication skills for patient engagement and team collaboration.
