This involves the set-up of a major collections and research facility, the MOWAA Pavilion, and the wider development of a creative district in the heart of Benin City.
Job Description:
Review and develop mechanical system designs, technical specifications, schematics, and drawings for installations, upgrades, and retrofits
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC systems, chillers, FCUs, AHUs, pumps, plumbing, and humidity control equipment
Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and safety codes
Monitor mechanical system performance, analyze energy consumption, and recommend efficiency and sustainability improvements
Enforce adherence to HSE standards, building codes, and conservation requirements to protect sensitive assets and artifacts
Provide technical support for climate-control systems in exhibitions and respond promptly to mechanical emergencies
Maintain accurate documentation of system performance, maintenance logs, and regulatory compliance certifications
Requirements:
Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and general building mechanical systems
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation tools, and energy modeling software
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Professional registration with COREN or equivalent; HSE certification is a plus
Excellent leadership, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.Eng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimun 7years of experience in mechanical design, operations, and maintenance, ideally within museums, galleries, or critical facilities.
