About Company:
United Nigeria Airlines is a wholly owned Nigerian company incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act of 1990 at the Corporate Affairs Commission to offer commercial air transportation services under the trade name United Nigeria.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Logistics Officer to manage the critical movement, storage, and availability of aircraft parts and operational materials. In the airline industry, time is measured in minutes, and efficiency is measured by "zero downtime." Your mission is to synchronize a complex global supply chain to ensure that maintenance teams have the right parts at the right time, every time.
This role is the backbone of our flight schedule. You will handle everything from routine catering supplies to high-stakes AOG (Aircraft on Ground) logistics, where every hour of delay translates to significant revenue loss. If you have 2–6 years of experience in aviation logistics, a mastery of IATA/EASA regulations, and the resilience to thrive in a 24/7 operational environment, we invite you to keep our fleet in the skies.
Requirements:
1. Mission-Critical Material & Inventory Management
Aviation Inventory Control: Manage high-value inventories including rotable aircraft parts, consumables, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Storage Excellence: Ensure all materials are stored, handled, and preserved according to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and NCAA/FAA standards.
Audit & Traceability: Maintain 100% traceability for all aircraft components, conducting regular audits to reconcile physical stock with digital records.
2. AOG Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
AOG Rapid Response: Lead time-critical logistics for "Aircraft on Ground" situations, arranging urgent air/road transport to minimize grounding time.
Global Shipping: Coordinate complex inbound and outbound logistics, managing relationships with freight forwarders and international courier services.
Customs & Compliance: Navigate the complexities of international customs clearance, ensuring all shipments comply with import/export laws and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
3. Technical Integration & Regulatory Governance
MRO System Proficiency: Utilize aviation-specific ERP systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, or SAP) to track parts, manage life-limited components, and generate performance reports.
Regulatory Documentation: Prepare and verify essential shipping documents, including Air Waybills (AWB), Certificates of Conformity (CoC), and Form 1 release certificates.
Stakeholder Synergy: Act as the central liaison between Engineering, Flight Ops, and external Repair Stations to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Aviation Management.
Experience: 2–6 years of experience in logistics (Aviation/Airline industry experience is highly preferred).
Technical IQ: Familiarity with AMOS, TRAX, or RAMCO systems and a deep understanding of AOG handling protocols.
Certifications: Knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) is an added advantage.
Core Competencies
Operational Resilience: Ability to work shifts (nights/weekends) and handle the high-pressure demands of a 24/7 airline schedule.
Analytical Skills: Strong demand forecasting and cost-optimization capabilities.
Communication: Refined negotiation skills for managing vendors, suppliers, and customs agents.
