We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Description:
- We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Legal Officer to provide legal support to our organisation.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for handling legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, supporting litigation processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing legal advisory services to support the organisation's programmes and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on organisational operations and programmes.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and briefs.
- Draft and review contracts, MoUs, and other legal documents.
- Support litigation processes and liaise with external counsel.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Represent the organisation in meetings and legal engagements.
- Monitor legal developments and support advocacy through legal analysis.
- Maintain legal records and contribute to legal publications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from a recognised institution with 2-5 years' relevant post-call experience (NGO or litigation experience is an advantage).
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar (BL certificate required).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in drafting contracts and legal documents.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
