Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber and technically elite Lead Software Engineer to anchor the fintech engineering division at Strivo Labs. In the rapidly evolving financial landscape of Lagos, success is defined by "Architectural Integrity", the ability to design distributed systems that handle sensitive transactions with 100% reliability and security. This role is designed for a "Technical Visionary" with 7+ years of experience who can blend "Hands-on Engineering" with the "System Oversight" required to lead multidisciplinary teams and integrate complex core banking APIs.

Your mission is to ensure "Seamless Scalability and Uncompromising Data Sovereignty." You will be the primary technical architect: responsible for defining backend best practices, overseeing CI/CD pipelines, and leading the development of digital lending and embedded finance platforms. If you possess "Distributed Systems Mastery," a deep understanding of fintech security protocols, and the leadership grit to mentor a high-performing engineering team, we want you to drive our technical excellence.

Requirements:

1. Systems Architecture & Digital Governance

• Distributed Systems Design: Oversee the architectural blueprint for digital financial services, ensuring high availability, resilience, and horizontal scalability.

• API Orchestration: Define the standards for API-driven platforms, designing robust integration layers for payment gateways, merchant systems, and core banking infrastructure.

• Technical Roadmap: Work with Technical Product Managers to translate ambitious product requirements into viable technical implementation plans and delivery timelines.

2. Engineering Leadership & Talent Mentorship

• Standardization: Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, and comprehensive technical documentation to ensure long-term system maintainability.

• Code Stewardship: Lead rigorous code reviews, ensuring every deployment adheres to security best practices and performance benchmarks.

• Mentorship: Act as a technical beacon for the engineering team, providing guidance across backend, frontend, and platform development to foster a culture of excellence.

3. Security, DevOps & System Integration

• Financial Data Sovereignty: Implement high-level authentication, encryption, and security protocols to ensure the secure handling of sensitive customer and financial data.

• Infra-Collaboration: Partner with DevOps teams to build robust CI/CD pipelines and automated system monitoring, ensuring production readiness and operational stability.

• Third-Party Synergy: Design and oversee complex integrations with external financial APIs and payment infrastructure, ensuring secure and reliable communication between systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with a proven track of delivering scalable backend systems and distributed platforms.

• Domain Expertise: Prior experience building Fintech platforms, Digital Lending systems, or Payments infrastructure is strongly preferred.

• Leadership Mastery: Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams or acting as a Senior Technical Lead in an agile environment.

Technical Mastery

• Architecture: Expert knowledge of API architecture, data modeling, and relational databases.

• Cloud & DevOps: Strong experience with cloud infrastructure environments and modern version control.

• Security: Deep understanding of encryption, secure data handling, and fintech-specific security standards.
