Job Description:

The Land Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out precise land surveys, mapping project sites, verifying property boundaries, and producing detailed technical drawings and reports. This role is essential in all stages of land development, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to regulatory and planning standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site surveys using GPS, Total Stations, GIS, and other surveying equipment.

  • Measure and map land boundaries for development, acquisitions, or title documentation.

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to support planning and design.

  • Analyze survey data and prepare technical documents, including site layout plans, survey reports, and topographic maps.

  • Verify legal boundaries based on title deeds, survey records, and other official documentation.

  • Provide construction support by confirming reference points, elevations, and levels.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date survey records and ensure secure data storage.

  • Ensure all survey activities meet legal, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Liaise with government survey departments and land registries for permits and approvals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in land surveying, ideally within the real estate or construction sector.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GPS systems, GIS tools, and other modern surveying equipment.

  • Must be registered with SURCON or be a member of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS).

  • Strong knowledge of legal land documentation, property laws, and boundary demarcation processes.

  • High attention to detail, integrity, and strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and regulatory bodies.
