Job Description:

We are seeking a technically proficient and leadership-driven Laboratory Supervisor to oversee our daily testing operations. In this role, you will be the guardian of analytical precision, ensuring that all tests on crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals meet the highest international benchmarks.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of experience in an oil and gas inspection environment and possesses the "technical grit" to maintain strict turnaround times without compromising safety or accuracy.

Requirements:

1. Technical Governance & Compliance

  • Standard Operating Procedures: Supervise all testing activities to ensure 100% alignment with ASTM, IP, and ISO standards.

  • Result Validation: Serve as the final technical authority, reviewing and validating complex test results before they are issued to clients.

  • ISO 17025 Integrity: Maintain the laboratory’s accreditation by investigating non-conformities, implementing corrective actions, and leading internal and external audits.

2. Operational Excellence & Maintenance

  • Throughput Management: Monitor laboratory productivity and optimize turnaround times (TAT) to meet urgent inspection deadlines.

  • Instrumentation Stewardship: Oversee the calibration and preventive maintenance schedules for high-end instruments, including Gas Chromatography (GC), HPLC, Sulfur Analyzers, and Distillation Units.

  • Inventory Control: Manage the procurement and stocking of laboratory consumables to ensure zero downtime in testing operations.

3. Leadership & HSE Leadership

  • Team Mentorship: Train, mentor, and evaluate analysts and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous technical improvement.

  • HSE Advocacy: Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all laboratory personnel.

  • Strategic Liaison: Coordinate seamlessly with operations and inspection teams to prioritize testing based on vessel loading or discharge schedules.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.

  • Industry Experience: 5 – 7 years in an Oil & Gas inspection/testing laboratory.

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
