Job Description:
- The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses to provide accurate and reliable data in support of scientific research, testing and development.
- The role involves ensuring that all tests meet quality standards, adhering to safety protocols, maintaining laboratory equipment, and providing clear documentation of results.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests, experiments, or analyses according to established protocols.
- Interpret test results and compare them with the expected outcomes to ensure
- accuracy.
- Record, analyze, and present findings in a clear, organized manner
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor the inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering necessary materials as required.
- Ensure all procedures are followed in accordance with industry standards, guidelines, and regulations (e.g., Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)).
- Participate in internal audits and external inspections when required.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of laboratory experiments, tests, and analyses.
- Communicate findings effectively with supervisors and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field with 3 years work experience.
Competencies:
- Expertise in performing laboratory tests, analyzing data, and using laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and methodologies specific.
- Precision in carrying out tests and documenting results. Ability to identify discrepancies or errors in test results and correct them.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, such as equipment malfunctions or test inconsistencies, and find appropriate solutions
- Strong analytical skills to interpret experimental data and generate meaningful insights or conclusions.
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and general office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data management and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry regulations (e.g., GLP, GMP, ISO standards) and laboratory safety procedures.
- Safety-conscious with good understanding of marine hazards

Salary
