Job Description:
We are seeking a high-precision and ethically driven Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our diagnostic team at Acouns Laboratory. Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Result Accuracy and Zero-Error Turnaround Times (TAT)." You will be a primary guardian of our clinical output: responsible for executing complex multi-step workflows, performing rigorous internal quality controls (IQC), and maintaining the technical integrity of sophisticated diagnostic instrumentation. If you possess "Meticulous Attention to Detail," a valid practicing license, and a commitment to continuous professional development, we want you to drive our laboratory excellence.
Requirements:
1. Clinical Testing & Workflow Orchestration
Specimen Stewardship: Accurately receive, label, and process biological samples, ensuring strict adherence to preservation protocols to maintain sample integrity from collection to analysis.
Advanced Diagnostics: Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring every result is reproducible and precise.
Problem Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot testing deviations or technical "glitches" within the laboratory workflow to prevent delays in patient care.
2. Quality Governance & Regulatory Rigor
Assurance Architecture: Lead Internal Quality Control (IQC) protocols and actively participate in External Quality Assurance (EQA) programs to validate the laboratory's diagnostic standing.
Biosafety & Ethics: Execute all testing within strict biosafety guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and patient data confidentiality (NDPR).
Accreditation Readiness: Maintain meticulous documentation of test logs and QC data, ensuring the laboratory is always prepared for statutory audits and MLSCN inspections.
3. Instrumentation & Technical Maintenance
Equipment Governance: Operate, calibrate, and clean high-throughput laboratory instruments according to manufacturer specifications to ensure peak performance.
Inventory Synchronization: Support reagent management and inventory tracking to eliminate stock-outs and ensure the availability of specialized diagnostic kits.
Mentorship & Growth: Support the coaching of junior staff while staying updated on emerging laboratory techniques and global diagnostic trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS).
Licensure: Must possess a valid and current practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a diagnostic laboratory environment.
Core Competencies
Technical Grit: Strong analytical skills with the ability to operate complex diagnostic instruments and interpret intricate results.
Meticulous Accuracy: A "Zero-Tolerance" approach to errors in sample handling, testing, and documentation.
Collaboration Mastery: Excellent professional communication skills required to interface with healthcare providers and the internal clinical team.
