Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, post, and reconcile journal entries, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain up-to-date general ledgers and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Conduct bank, vendor, and account reconciliations accurately and promptly.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings.
- Support inventory and fixed asset management, including periodic counts and reconciliation.
- Manage petty cash operations and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant accounting standards.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during audit exercises.
- Perform any other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Head of Accounts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Compliance with internal control procedures and statutory requirements.
- Quality and completeness of accounting documentation and audit support.
- Efficiency in managing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and numerical ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
Other Requirements:
- Gender: Male (for gender balance).
- Residence: Must reside within Lagos Island or its immediate environment.
- Must be proactive, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional qualification or progress in ICAN/ACCA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 – 6 years relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in retail, FMCG, or a structured business environment.
Salary
