Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, post, and reconcile journal entries, invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain up-to-date general ledgers and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Conduct bank, vendor, and account reconciliations accurately and promptly.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings.
• Support inventory and fixed asset management, including periodic counts and reconciliation.
• Manage petty cash operations and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors during audit exercises.
• Perform any other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Head of Accounts.

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Compliance with internal control procedures and statutory requirements.
• Quality and completeness of accounting documentation and audit support.
• Efficiency in managing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical and numerical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).

Other Requirements:

• Gender: Male (for gender balance).
• Residence: Must reside within Lagos Island or its immediate environment.
• Must be proactive, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional qualification or progress in ICAN/ACCA is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 – 6 years relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in retail, FMCG, or a structured business environment.
