Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and strategic Internal Audit Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding the company’s assets, ensuring operational excellence, and promoting a culture of compliance across our Nigerian market operations. You will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, monitoring store compliance, and driving improvements in efficiency, economy, and effectiveness.
Requirements:
Compliance Monitoring: Conduct rigorous Operations Standard Compliance (OSC) audits across all store locations to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and systems.
Variance Reporting: Identify, report, and track variances, ensuring prompt resolution of all identified gaps.
Recommendation Implementation: Monitor the status of internal audit findings to ensure that significant issues are satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner.
Value for Money Audits: Evaluate and report on the company’s activities with a focus on maximizing economy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Trend Analysis: Proactively identify patterns from audit findings to formulate actionable recommendations that strengthen internal controls and mitigate business risks.
Financial Integrity: Review the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial reporting to support informed management decision-making.
Quality Management: Develop and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring a consolidated, uniform compliance approach company-wide.
Business Improvement: Partner with management to identify process improvement opportunities and manage projects derived from Quality Policy recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Minimum of a University Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Core Competencies & Skills
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in computerized accounting and auditing record-keeping systems.
Industry Knowledge: Current awareness of business developments, legislative changes (specifically within the Food Industry), and modern auditing techniques.
Functional Skills: Strong foundation in Accounting principles.
Management Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and time-management capabilities. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate audit activities effectively.
