Job Description:
Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for the agricultural sector? We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resource Officer to lead and coordinate all HR functions for our agricultural farming operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless HR operations, fostering positive employee relations, and driving productivity and growth within our workforce. Requirements:
Recruitment and Staffing: Manage end-to-end recruitment for farm workers, supervisors, technical, and admin staff. Develop strategic manpower plans, maintain a robust talent pipeline for seasonal/permanent roles, and oversee onboarding and induction programs.
Employee Relations and Welfare: Act as the primary point of contact for grievances and conflict resolution. Champion a harmonious workplace, coordinate essential welfare initiatives (accommodation, transport, etc.), and ensure strict adherence to company policies.
Performance Management: Monitor attendance and performance, lead appraisal and probation reviews, and guide department heads on performance improvement plans and disciplinary matters.
Payroll and Compensation: Ensure accurate payroll processing by maintaining precise records of attendance, overtime, leave, and shift schedules.
Training and Development: Identify operational training needs, organize safety and productivity workshops, and evaluate the effectiveness of development initiatives.
Compliance and Industrial Relations: Ensure full compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws, maintain statutory HR documentation, and manage employee exit processes and investigations.
HR Administration: Manage comprehensive employee databases, generate workforce analytics, and conduct exit interviews to drive retention improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
Experience: 3–7 years of proven HR experience. Crucial: You must have practical experience within an Agricultural Farm, Agro-Allied company, Plantation, or livestock/poultry setting. Experience managing both permanent and casual labor is highly preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. In-depth knowledge of Nigerian employment regulations.
Competencies: Excellent leadership, high integrity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Additional Requirements: Must be comfortable working in a farm setting and willing to relocate if necessary. Professional HR certifications (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) are a significant advantage.
