Job Description:
We are seeking a high-impact Human Resource Business Partner (Commercial) to act as the strategic link between our HR function and our commercial engine. In this role, you won't just "administer" HR; you will be an embedded advisor to the Sales and Marketing leadership, ensuring that our people strategy directly fuels our revenue goals.
As the "Commercial HR Architect," you will manage the full employee lifecycle for our commercial teams—from aggressive workforce planning and talent acquisition to high-performance culture building. The ideal candidate possesses 5–7 years of experience, a deep understanding of Nigerian Labor Laws, and the business acumen to speak the language of sales, targets, and market expansion.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Partnership & Organizational Alignment
Business Advisory: Partner with Commercial leadership to design HR interventions that drive sales force effectiveness and market penetration.
Workforce Planning: Lead strategic headcount planning and succession mapping to ensure the commercial team is always staffed with top-tier talent.
Change Management: Act as a catalyst for organizational change, ensuring the commercial function remains agile in a competitive market.
2. Performance, Reward & Engagement
Performance Governance: Drive the end-to-end performance management cycle, from setting aggressive commercial KPIs to executing performance improvement plans (PIPs).
Culture Advocacy: Foster a high-performance, incentive-driven culture that rewards excellence and maintains high levels of employee engagement.
Relations & Advisory: Provide expert guidance on employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution, ensuring a fair and compliant work environment.
3. HR Analytics & Compliance
Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize HR analytics and manpower metrics to provide Commercial heads with insights on turnover, productivity, and bench strength.
Regulatory Governance: Ensure all HR activities within the commercial unit are 100% compliant with company policies and the Nigerian Labor Act.
CoE Collaboration: Work with HR Centers of Excellence (Recruitment, Compensation, Learning) to deploy specialized HR programs that fit the unique needs of the commercial team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: First Degree (B.Sc./HND) in HRM, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 – 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 – 3 years specifically supporting a Commercial or Sales function.
Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI) is highly preferred.
Core Competencies
Strategic Acumen: Ability to understand sales cycles and translate business needs into HR solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence senior commercial leaders and manage diverse expectations.
Legal IQ: Deep knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and industrial relations practices.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using data to tell a story and guide HR strategy.
