Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and highly experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor to join our oil palm processing operations in Odogbolu. You will be responsible for overseeing the safety and environmental integrity of our facility and plantations. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for safety culture, ensuring our operations remain compliant, hazard-free, and environmentally responsible.

Requirements:

• Policy Implementation: Develop and maintain robust HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to our processing facility and plantation operations.

• Risk Management: Conduct rigorous workplace inspections and comprehensive risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.

• Compliance Oversight: Ensure full alignment with Nigerian HSE regulations, company standards, and environmental requirements.

• Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, driving the implementation of effective corrective actions.

• Training & Culture: Deliver engaging HSE induction and specialized training for all employees and contractors to foster a world-class safety culture.

• Safety Enforcement: Oversee the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols.

• Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate regular emergency drills and response procedures to ensure staff readiness.

• Environmental Stewardship: Monitor waste management practices and environmental controls to minimize our operational footprint.

• Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors regarding all HSE-related matters.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in an HSE capacity, specifically within manufacturing, agro-processing, FMCG, or heavy industrial operations.

• Certifications: Possession of professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA) is highly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of Nigerian HSE legislation and environmental compliance frameworks.

• Soft Skills: Excellent report-writing abilities, strong leadership skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Operational Agility: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.
