Job Description:

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Head of Technical to lead our technical operations in the Lekki-Chevron area of Lagos. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the core technical functions of our brokerage operations, including underwriting, claims management, and policy administration. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned insurance professional with a deep understanding of the Nigerian insurance market, a track record of driving operational efficiency, and the leadership capability to manage and develop a high-performing technical team.

Requirements:

• Technical Oversight: Lead and supervise all technical operations, ensuring seamless execution of underwriting, claims processing, and policy administration.

• Operational Excellence: Define and implement strategies to streamline technical processes, improve turnaround times, and enhance service delivery.

• Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all technical activities adhere to industry regulations and internal governance policies.

• Team Leadership: Mentor, lead, and manage the technical team, fostering a culture of professional excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

• Risk & Problem Solving: Apply expert analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues, mitigate operational risks, and support strategic decision-making.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for technical inquiries, maintaining strong relationships with insurance companies, clients, and partners.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Technical Operations within the Insurance Industry.

• Sector Specialization: Brokerage experience is mandatory for this role.

• Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of underwriting principles, claims management processes, and end-to-end policy administration.

• Professional Certification: CIIN (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) certification is required.

• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.

• Analytical Ability: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving skills.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with executive management and stakeholders.
