Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources (HR Head) to lead our HR function and align people management with business objectives.
- The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in labour law, industrial relations, and regulatory compliance, with proven experience in the manufacturing sector.
- This role requires strong leadership, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage relationships with labour unions while ensuring compliance with government and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and frameworks that support business goals.
- Oversee talent acquisition, employee engagement, training, and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with all labour laws, company policies, and industrial relations practices.
- Manage relationships with labour unions, including negotiations, conflict resolution, and collective bargaining.
- Ensure compliance with government agencies and regulatory bodies such as:
- NAFDAC
- Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON)
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) authorities
- Local authorities on pollution control
- Brand registration and regulatory licensing
- Lead and oversee performance management, compensation, and benefits frameworks.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on HR, compliance, and industrial relations issues.
- Drive initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, diversity, and retention.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Proven track record in the manufacturing sector
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and Industrial Relations.
- Experience working with labour unions and managing collective bargaining processes.
- Strong knowledge of government compliance and regulatory frameworks (NAFDAC, SON, EIA, local pollution authorities, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage change effectively.
