Job Description:
- Full responsibility for budget development, planning & reporting, and liquidity management.
- Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization in alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and provide insightful recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial statements for future reference.
- Monitor and manage expenses within the established budget.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Preparation and submission of CBN and NDIC monthly rendition Returns
- Remittance of statutory deductions on a monthly basis, such as PAYE, WHT, VAT etc.
- Communicate financial performance and forecasts; preparation and review of monthly and quarterly reports for Board, Shareholders, Regulatory bodies, etc.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of microfinance industry regulations and financial reporting standards, with experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates excellent understanding of financials as well as advanced business finance and performance analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word and good knowledge of IFRS.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a microfinance institution, with at least 3 years in a senior management position.
- HND/BSC Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA).
