Job Description:

• To own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Temenos T24 / Transact core banking platform — its architecture, customisation and continuous optimisation — aligning the core banking infrastructure with the strategic growth goals of the Digital and Wholesale Banking divisions while ensuring high availability, robust security and seamless product delivery.
• This is a dual-capability senior role combining strategic leadership with deep technical core banking expertise. Without it, the organisation would lack a single accountable owner who can both govern the T24/Transact technical architecture and translate complex digital and wholesale banking products into reliable, secure, production-grade delivery.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Solution Architecture

• Lead Deployments: Direct the technical execution of T24 implementations, system upgrades and module rollouts from initiation through to post-go-live.
• System Design: Define and govern the technical architecture for digital and wholesale banking solutions, ensuring scalability, security and alignment with industry standards.
• Resource Optimisation: Manage and mentor a team of technical developers, business analysts and system administrators.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management:

• Requirement Gathering: Partner with Digital and Wholesale Banking business units to translate complex financial products into clear technical specifications.
• Executive Liaison: Act as the primary technical advisor to senior management, explaining architectural risks, project timelines and platform capabilities in non-technical terms.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate directly with Temenos consultants and third-party vendors to resolve critical software bugs and product limitations.

System Customisation & Engineering:

• Core Customisation: Oversee code development, local developments (Versions, Enquiries, Templates) and API integrations and the Temenos Integration Framework (IF).
• Module Configuration: Fine-tune and optimise core modules supporting corporate lending, trade finance, treasury and digital channels.
• Integration Governance: Ensure secure, real-time connectivity between the T24 core and peripheral systems (payment gateways, CRM and mobile banking apps).

Quality Assurance & Performance Tuning:

• Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis for complex system errors, performance bottlenecks and database locks.
• Testing Frameworks: Design, enforce and validate comprehensive Unit, System Integration (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) protocols.
• Disaster Recovery: Maintain and test high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures to guarantee business continuity.

Innovation & Knowledge Management:

• Roadmap Evaluation: Monitor the Temenos product roadmap and emerging fintech trends to proactively recommend upgrades and competitive digital capabilities.
• Training Programmes: Create technical documentation and user guides, and conduct structured training sessions for end-users to maximise system adoption.

Position in Structure:

• The role leads a multidisciplinary core-banking team and owns the following capability areas across the Temenos estate:

Solution Architecture & Deployments:

• T24/Transact architecture governance and the technical execution of implementations, upgrades and module rollouts.

Customisation & Engineering :

• Local developments (Versions, Enquiries, Templates), and Integration Framework / API integrations.

Module Configuration:

• Configuration and optimisation of wholesale, corporate and digital modules — lending, trade finance, treasury and digital channels.

Quality Assurance & Environments:

• Unit / SIT / UAT protocols, performance tuning, multi-environment landscape management and disaster-recovery assurance.

Reporting line:

• The Head, Digital & Wholesale Banking reports to the VP, Delivery Engineering & Tech Innovation.

KPI Framework

• Performance is measured across five dimensions spanning platform stability, delivery and adoption:
• Platform Availability & Stability: System uptime/availability; severity-1 incident rate; mean time to resolution; database-lock and bottleneck recurrence.
• Delivery Execution: Implementations, upgrades and module rollouts delivered to plan; post-go-live defect rate; on time, on-scope delivery.
• Quality Assurance: UAT / SIT pass rate; defects escaping to production; test-coverage of customisations and integrations.
• Security & Continuity: Integration security compliance; successful DR tests; recovery-time / recovery-point objectives met.
• Adoption & Capability: End-user adoption of delivered capabilities; documentation and training coverage; team capability and certification progression.

Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related financial-technology discipline.
• Relevant certification is expected, such as: - Certified Temenos T24 / Transact Consultant — Functional or Technical (highly desirable) - Temenos Integration Framework / Design Studio certification — advantageous - Core-banking or solution-architecture certification — advantageous

Experience:
General Experience:

• Must have 8–10 years' experience in core banking systems, with at least 5 years specifically dedicated to leading Temenos T24 / Transact implementations or consulting.

Managerial Experience:

• Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams (developers, business analysts and system administrators) across the full implementation lifecycle.

Skills:
Temenos Mastery:

• Advanced knowledge of Temenos T24 / Transact architecture, TAFJ / TAFC runtimes and the jBASE database environment.
• Functional Breadth: Proven configuration of wholesale and corporate modules (LD, FT, MD, LC, TR, AC) and digital banking interfaces.
• Development Tools: Proficiency in Transact programming, Design Studio, Integration Framework (IF) and the Interaction Framework (IRIS / APIs).
• Environment Management: Experience managing multi-environment landscapes (Dev, Test, UAT, Production) and data migration protocols.
• Core Banking Domain: Deep understanding of wholesale banking operations, corporate credit workflows, trade-finance instruments and digital banking platforms.
