Job Description:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan and strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for implementation of an innovation strategy to ensure a culture of creativity, experimentation and failing fast is embedded across the organization
  • Drive our transformation from a TelCo to a TechCo including oversight of digital transformation initiatives linked to the transformation.

Requirements:

  • Lead the strategic planning process including the formulation of long-term objectives, key strategies and action plans  
  • Lead an annual assessment of our competitive positioning considering industry trends and the competitive landscape 
  • Translate business goals into actionable initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry trends, customer needs and competitive landscape
  • Drive the implementation and monitoring of strategic initiatives to ensure timely execution and achievement of desired outcomes
  • Periodically evaluate competition, market disruptions, regulatory changes and industry trends and dynamics to proactively inform positioning of the company and decision-making
  • Lead diagnostics and problem-solving workshops, applying economic/business principles and recognizing intricacies of complex problems to develop innovative solutions driven or supported by data 
  • Identify strategic risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity
  • Lead evaluation of successes and failures of internal consulting initiatives through rigorous post-implementation evaluation
  • Develop internal consulting competencies within Strategy & Innovation 
  • Identify, evaluate and track the development needs and performance of staff within the team providing opportunities for staff to build on the company’s investment in their training and improve productivity.
  • Coach and mentor the team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the division, awareness of all related job requirements and accountabilities and leverage human resources through the deployment of robust people management practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • First degree in any relevant discipline 
  • Fluent in English and language of country preferable
  • Possession of Project Management certification or an MBA is advantageous

Experience:
A minimum of 12 years of working experience, which includes:

  • Senior management track record of 5 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry as per relevant role. 
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise (understanding emerging markets advantageous)
  • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies. 
  • Proven project management experience, preferably with an organization health component.
  • High performing individual with strong standing, credibility across organization and a natural internal network.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to help others organize problem solving
  • Respected by employees, good mentor for subordinates
  • Excellent communication skills; strong networking and influencing skills.
