Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and structurally elite General Manager, Group Operations to anchor the mission-critical engine of the airline. In a specialized aviation landscape characterized by airspace congestion, fuel supply variability, and infrastructure constraints success is defined by "Operational Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize multi-functional departments with the clinical precision required for Regulatory Compliance (NCAA/ICAO), On-Time Performance (OTP), and Safety Management Systems (SMS). This role is designed for an "Aviation Architect" with 12–15 years of experience (including 5 years in senior leadership) who can blend "Command Grit" (managing disruption recovery) with the "Strategic Agility" required to optimize Cost per Available Seat Kilometer (CASK).

Requirements:

1. Orchestration & Regulatory Governance

• Safety Sovereignty: Oversee the implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure full compliance with NCAA and ICAO SARPs, acting as the primary "Source of Institutional Compliance."

• Audit Architecture: Maintain operational readiness for regulatory inspections and ensure the closure of corrective actions, providing the "Structural Foundation" for a license-to-operate.

• Integrity Stewardship: Monitor SOP adherence and operational discipline across Flight Ops and Cabin Services, ensuring the "Source of Safety Assurance" is elite and uncompromised.

2. Tactical Resilience & Reliability Logic

• Performance Sovereignty: Deliver On-Time Performance (OTP) targets and manage disruption recovery for weather or technical events, acting as the primary "Source of Network Reliability."

• Dispatch Architecture: Coordinate with CAMO and MRO providers to ensure aircraft availability and minimize AOG incidents, providing the "Functional Foundation" for schedule integrity.

• Station Stewardship: Standardize ground handling processes across all FAAN-operated airports, maintaining the "Source of Turnaround Efficiency."

3. Operational Integrity & Cost Power

• Fiscal Sovereignty: Optimize fuel consumption and control operational overheads, acting as the primary "Source of Cost Optimization."

• Manpower Architecture: Coordinate with HR and Flight Ops on crew productivity and roster optimization, providing the "Relational Foundation" for lean resource management.

• Velocity Logic: Utilize 12–15 years of aviation expertise to resolve systemic abnormalities in Nigeria’s airspace, maximizing the "Source of Operational Throughput" for the Group.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: 12 – 15 years in aviation operations; minimum 5 years in senior airline leadership.

• Technical Power: ATPL, Aircraft Engineering License, or relevant senior aviation qualification preferred.

• Domain Mastery: Deep understanding of Nigerian airport infrastructure, FAAN/NCAA regulations, and regional weather volatility.
