Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team in an HR consulting firm.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to drive business growth.
  • The successful candidate must have proven experience in a consulting environment and hold a relevant professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and best practices.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports and analyses to support executive decision-making.
  • Partner with business unit leaders and consultants to align financial strategies with client service delivery and organizational objectives.
  • Monitor revenue, project profitability, and cost management across consulting engagements.
  • Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance, liaising with auditors, tax authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee payroll processes, invoicing, client billing, and ensure efficient receivables and payables management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend strategies to safeguard company assets and enhance financial sustainability.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development by providing financial modeling and insights into new consulting service lines.

Requirements:

  • BSc / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Mandatory professional certification: ICAN, ACCA and CPA
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a consulting firm (HR consulting experience is a strong advantage).
  • Solid understanding of financial management within a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and project profitability tracking.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High ethical standards, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary - N350,000 - N400,000 monthly
  • HMO benefits.
