Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Officer to join our team in Arepo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring tax compliance, and maintaining accurate records to support our organizational growth. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity of our financial data and the efficiency of our accounting workflows.

Requirements:

• Transaction Processing: Ensure the accuracy of all data required for processing financial transactions into the accounting software.

• Statutory Compliance: Manage all statutory deductions, including Withholding Tax (WHT), ensuring prompt monthly remittances to relevant authorities.

• General Accounting: Manage cash/bank transactions, accounts receivable, accruals, and payroll processing.

• Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and resolve any discrepancies. Conduct weekly revenue reconciliations in collaboration with the traffic department.

• Audit Support: Work closely with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and timely year-end audit process.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive monthly financial reports to management.

• Cash Flow Management: Oversee the company’s cash flow, manage petty cash disbursements, and maintain records of prepaid assets.

• Operations & Utilities: Ensure the timely payment of utility bills and tax levies.

• Process Improvement: Participate in the ongoing optimization of accounting systems and the strengthening of internal financial controls.

• Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.

• Reporting: Accomplish additional financial tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional qualification).

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency in financial accounting packages and MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

• Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of confidentiality.

• Previous experience in bookkeeping or financial administration is preferred.
