Job Description:

We are seeking a resilient and strategically minded Field Recovery Officer to lead our debt recovery and verification efforts. In the financial services sector, success is defined by "Recovery Velocity", the ability to secure outstanding liabilities while maintaining professional integrity. This role is designed for an "Operational Lead"—a professional with 1–3 years of experience who can blend the "Field Grit" of physical site visits with the supervisory skills required to manage a team of Verification Officers.

Your mission is to ensure "Maximum Portfolio Recovery and Absolute Verification Integrity." You will be our eyes and ears on the ground: responsible for evaluating business health, conducting high-stakes negotiations, and ensuring that our risk assessment data is surgically accurate. If you possess "Negotiation Mastery," an in-depth knowledge of the local geography, and the agility to handle high-pressure field assignments, we want you to drive our recovery excellence.

Requirements:

1. Field Intelligence & Risk Assessment

• Business Diagnostic: Conduct physical visits to customer premises to evaluate financial operations, stock levels, and overall business viability to inform recovery strategies.

• Multi-Point Verification: Execute on-site confirmation of residential and business addresses, including interviews with guarantors and referees to ensure accountability.

• Operational Supervision: Lead and coordinate a team of Field Verification Officers across the state, ensuring all data points are captured accurately and within the agreed timelines.

2. Strategic Recovery & Negotiation

• Conflict Engineering: Navigate difficult conversations with delinquent customers, using professional negotiation techniques to reach structured and sustainable repayment arrangements.

• Portfolio Governance: Maintain a results-oriented approach to debt recovery, ensuring that collections align with company policies and regulatory frameworks.

• Issue Escalation: Proactively identify and escalate systemic operational challenges to senior management, supporting prompt resolution to protect the loan book.

3. Reporting & Analytical Precision

• Daily Activity Audits: Compile and submit comprehensive daily reports detailing all verification activities, recovery milestones, and field observations.

• Geographical Optimization: Leverage in-depth local knowledge to plan efficient routes for the verification team, maximizing field coverage and reducing response latency.

• Integrity Management: Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics during all field interactions, ensuring the brand's reputation remains untarnished.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Minimum of HND or B.Sc. in any relevant discipline.

• Experience: 1–3 years in debt recovery, credit control, or field collections (Financial Services, Microfinance, or FMCG preferred).

• Technical Mastery: At least 2 years of experience in credit risk or field verification is a significant advantage.
