Job Description:

We are an elite, multi-service law firm located in the heart of Lekki Phase 1, and we are seeking a formidable Senior Litigation Associate to join our dispute resolution practice. This role is designed for a seasoned advocate who possesses the "courtroom presence" and the intellectual rigor to handle complex commercial and civil litigation. You will be responsible for navigating high-stakes disputes from initial briefing through to judgment, providing our clients with strategic clarity and aggressive representation.

Requirements:

1. Advanced Dispute Resolution & Strategy

• Case Theory Development: Craft sophisticated legal strategies and case theories for complex commercial, land, and civil litigations.

• Appellate Advocacy: Conduct high-level legal research and draft compelling briefs for cases across all tiers of the Nigerian judicial system.

• Client Advisory: Serve as a primary point of contact for high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients, translating complex legal risks into actionable business advice.

2. Courtroom Presence & Technical Drafting

• Active Representation: Lead courtroom appearances and argue motions with precision, confidence, and a deep understanding of the Rules of Court.

• Pleading Mastery: Draft meticulous pleadings, petitions, and legal opinions that reflect the firm's standard of excellence.

• Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Lead mediation and arbitration sessions where strategic settlement offers a more efficient path for the client.

3. Team Leadership & Practice Management

• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior associates, ensuring the firm’s quality of work is maintained across the board.

• Independent Execution: Manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision, meeting strict court deadlines and internal firm milestones.

• Collaborative Excellence: Work across departments to provide litigation support for the firm’s corporate and real estate practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Credentials

• Bar Admission: Must be a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in good standing.

• Tenure: A minimum of 5 years of post-call professional litigation experience within a reputable firm.

• Expertise: Demonstrated success in handling complex litigation, including a strong grasp of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.

Core Competencies

• Problem-Solving: Exceptional ability to identify legal loopholes and engineer creative solutions for difficult cases.

• Communication: Superior verbal advocacy and written communication skills.

• Proximity: Residency in or close to Lekki Phase 1 is considered a significant advantage.
