Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership and operational oversight. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team covering Mechanical Services, Machine Services, Cold End Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Safety & Environmental functions—to ensure operational excellence, profitability, and world-class safety standards. As a key member of the plant management team, you will drive sustainability, quality, and process optimization in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

• Operational Leadership: Manage and mentor the engineering department to consistently meet performance targets and profitability metrics.

• Strategy & Planning: Develop, implement, and report on key engineering strategies and maintenance plans, tracking performance trends against business objectives.

• Process Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing and refining systems, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with Group policies and legislative requirements.

• Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational and business risks at both macro and micro levels.

• Safety & Sustainability: Champion a culture of “Zero Harm,” ensuring all engineering activities strictly adhere to environmental, health, and safety legislation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Melting, Production, and other support services to optimize plant resource allocation and operational KPIs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Formal qualification in Engineering or a related Science degree/Diploma. Possession of a professional membership certificate is a distinct advantage.

• Experience: 4–6 years of proven experience in an Engineering Management role within a technical manufacturing environment. (Experience in glass operations and processes is highly preferred).

• Technical & Business Acumen: A blend of deep technical expertise and strong commercial insight.

• Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to drive results through proactive planning, effective team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and inclusive change management.
